
The Valley Community Library will be hosting an author talk and book signing by Jay Luke, author of “When Coal Was Queen: The History of the Queen City—Olyphant, Pennsylvania” on Monday, August 31st at 6 p.m. The book, published by local publisher Tribute Books, journeys into the colorful history of Olyphant, Pennsylvania and its notable past.
Jay Luke is a musician and artist from Throop, Pa and a graduate of Marywood University. As a project engineer for the Olyphant Coal Miner Memorial Association, he has delved deeply into the origins of the area and the forgotten histories of the towns around him.
